Chef Ashleybelle, a professional who focuses on nutrition and well-being, wrote in LinkedIn: “With so many people growing confused about how much water to drink amongst other nutritive facts, I wanted to share a little bit of information. According to the Institute of Medicine, the 8×8 rule is no longer ‘valid.’ The organization goes on to say that men should consume 125 oz. of water while women should only consume 91 oz. including food and ‘other beverages.’ These, of course, are minimums based on your eating habits and daily activity levels.”

She added: “If you are looking to subsidize your water consumption with foods and other beverages consider eating foods that are high in water content, such as: watermelon, celery, carrots, dark leafy greens/lettuces, and even tomatoes.”
